    Picture

Coming from a mixed marriage (her dad a phenomenal cook, and her mom only able to make Jell-O), Emma tries to take after her wise old man, at least in his taste for massive amounts of garlic and smoky turkey chili. Despite her city roots, Emma finds herself tied to backcountry cooking in her quest to combine her two loves: nature and food. Her expertise: ‘Smores.

    Local Flavor Editor: Lee Schechter

    Picture
Hailing from New England and having two parents who love to cook and eat, Lee has always had a strong passion for food.  Lee’s Bostonian roots contribute to his love of seafood, especially fried clams.  His dad’s curiosity for tasting and cooking new and exotic foods runs in Lee’s blood.  Lee constantly searches for different and exciting foods and has tried and will try just about anything.  Since Lee has ventured through the glorious world of food his entire life, he can be a bit of a “food snob,” especially when referring to a New Englander’s ability to know what good seafood and good pizza is.  To go along with Lee’s love of food is a love to eat a whole lot of it.  Lee is always up for a hearty eating challenge.

    Copy Editor: Maddie LaKind

    Picture
Maddie’s love affair with food all began at the tender age of eight when she got her first dose of The Food Network. From that day on she was permanently hooked, watching cooking shows religiously, scouring books and food blogs in search of the best places to eat whilst traveling, purchasing obscene amounts of cookbooks, and cooking dinners for her family and friends. Her all time food loves include cheese (absolutely any variety…even the smelly stuff), honeycrisp apples, the #73 sandwich from Zingerman’s Deli, almond croissants, and basically anything off an Indian menu. With aspirations to one day own her own restaurant, Maddie is always eager to photograph food, talk about food, read about food, write about food, and of course eat!
