News from an Editor: The Winter Break 12/22/2009
![]() Hello our fantastic readers! Many of you may be familiar with the lyrics: "I'll be home for Christmas, you can plan on me..." I will be home, as will our writers, over the University of Michigan's winter break. What does this mean for Wolverine CuiZine? Well, not too much really. We have a couple of articles in line for the weeks coming including a fun article by Zak arriving on christmas day, and another mouth-watering article from Cathy Fan. Still in order to let our writers and chefs relax we will not be posting original articles everyday until JANUARY 4th. Instead I'll share some of my favorite recipes and interesting tidbits of information I find throughout the break. So kick back enjoy some and here's hoping you all have a fun and safe holiday break! ![]() Yes that's right, we've provided you with some of our favorite dishes to make. So when your sitting at home and wondering what culinary creation you can whip up for an exciting new meal, keep us in mind. You might end up eating a White Chocolate Pumpkin Cheesecake with a Pecan Gingersnap crust (picture), Shepherd's Pie, Sri Lankan Dhal, a Tomato Tart or a Calabacitas Burrito! Trust me they are all worth a try. Happy Thanksgiving Foodies! 11/26/2009
![]() Happy Thanksgiving! Here's hoping everyone has a safe and delightful food loving holiday! Enjoy our Thanksgiving articles and look forward to another dealing with left-overs tomorrow! News from an Editor: Veronica 11/17/2009
![]() Well Food Lovers, there's a lot to look forward to in the upcoming months. Especially the holiday that makes a Foodie out of just about everyone: Thanksgiving! In order to prepare you (and ourselves) to savor every delicious morsel that passes your lips next Thursday, we're going to provide you with Thanksgiving recipes and article for before the big day, and maybe even a few for after (some creative ways to use those leftovers). So we won't skip straight to Christmas like the stores, after all, who doesn't like thinking about all that food? That's not all either, shortly after Thanksgiving we will start our two month weekly review of a cookbook. It's called Freshman in the Kitchen, written by Max and Eli Sussman. So every week for eight weeks, we'll pass around the book to a new writer and they'll tell us about their experience and of course the end result of a recipe from the book. It's tons of fun for us and sure to be entertaining (especially if I cook something...) so be sure to tune in and see how it's going! ![]() Success! Our first ever potluck turned out great! Fall themed foods were bountiful along with a variety of other treats like Nick's Jalepeño surprise and Rajesh's delicious pork chops! The Trotter House provided us with a large kitchen that helped dishes get heated, baked, melted, and ready to eat. Thanks to everyone who participated in the potluck and get ready to feast yet again at the next one So Maybe You Were Wondering... 10/05/2009
